Hello! I’m Hannah, the founder and designer of Fairy Rose dresses. I have been selling handmade pieces since 2021, but the Fairy Rose brand was founded in 2026, when I started selling dresses for the first time! It all started when I started selling crochet hats on depop. Then the hats became bags, then to stylized amigurumi, and now I have branched out to my own website with dresses!!
I have been crocheting for 6 years now. Prior to this, I was an aspiring actress-then lockdown hit. I was trying to find something to do, since auditions were nonexistent for me. I have experimented with streaming video games, doll customization, and crochet. The first two are things I still enjoy, but crochet was the thing that really stuck-and I’m glad it did. It wasn’t until the end of 2024 when I gained the confidence to crochet my own clothing. So, I went with not a shirt, not a sweater, not even a skirt. I went straight into making a maxi dress. That particular dress has since been undone to make bags, but my skill has improved significantly since then. You can check out my works on my TikTok page, @thefairyrose.
My sewing journey has lasted for 3 years now. My first year was spent in a one-on-one class with a small town local woman. She taught me the basics of understanding the machine, the stitches, and we spent that year making pillowcases and doll clothes. Once I moved away, I got really into quilting. I was really inspired specifically by quilts made for little girls in the early 2000’s (when I was born!!). I loved making patchwork quilts, but making a blanket wasn’t “enough”. I love patchwork so much I need to WEAR it. And the rest is history!
I am still in the very early phase of my brand. There’s still more stock to be made, and more things and techniques to learn. However, I have many goals to branch out to more designs, sizes, and making more adorable products for you!
